Car rental

It is a good idea to start early to search if you plan to rent a car for Christmas, New Year and Easter or if you need a large car as the larger cars are both rare and expensive.

The only car rental company with head office in Madeira is Rodavante

Rodavante seems sometimes to be a bit cheaper than the big ones. You can book online in English, French, German and in Portuguese of course at rodavante.com. Please check that Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)" is included. Theft and Glass breakage/tires damage waiver  can be added when you pick up the car, you can then also exclude the deductible for the CDW.

You find all the usual car rental companies represented at the Airport.: Avis, Hertz, Sixt , Europcar and two more local Auto Jardim and Rodavante.

There are also others that collect you at the airport and deliver from an office outside the airport. They may be a bit cheaper (they may not ask for the Air Port charge 25 euro) and may use older cars.
 

Buses

Bus nº 7 goes from outside our front gate (100 m) almost every hour in early morning and late afternoon,  less often on other times of the day and Saturday Sunday. Read more
